More on Nasrallah…..
By admin • Jan 2nd, 2009 • Category: egypt, egyptian, gaza, israelI received the following email from the brother of a dear friend of mine and I added it as is without any editing as well as my reply to his email:
Dear Noha
I wanted to widh you a happy New Year , and I came across the article you have written on Nasralla
and I was very shocked that you use sucjh language which is not at the level of an intellectualk responsible person , nor does it reflect a sense of nationalism ! Unless if of course you have like some others , who still
a minority I believe , divorced yourself from Arab nation, exactly what Isr&el has worked on ever since 1973 after Glorious October 6 war !
I wish upon you to refrain from writing this type of “emotional” and insulting way about things that are too complicated , and try instead to ask questions ans seek the truth . Nasralla is the most popular Leader in the Arab world, including in Egypt , so he didn t get there by coincidence ort becasue Arab leaders like him .
He has been attacked by the same ones who attacjed him ever since his party has been created.
To reach the level of heroism and popularity that he has reached is not s joke and is far more serious than you think … On top of that no one understands why a border like Rafah is closed , when it is just a simple border post that has police, army etc.. who control everyone that comes in and out .. It was in the hands of P.A. which is now exactly like all Arab regimes, which means does what it si told by big brother… Remember Hamas was elected democratically by the Palestinians , ans also remember that NO COUNTRY in teh world has been treated like Israel treats Gaza . Even Nazis in their heights didn t do that : Isolating and starving one and a half million civilians and treating them the way Israel has . So what is teh big deal if Nasralla or others ask for a simple HUMAN treatment of those innocent people , yes Innocent people , and israelis are cowards and there are demantsrations all over the world , and for the first time all over EGYPT ! because peole are decent and have feeling . I hope that YOU TOO have feelings of justice , before this SUDDEN EGYPTIAN CHAUVINISTIC attitude that is created by the ennemeis of the Egyptian people who dominate MEDIAS and influence decent people like you .
Anyway I tried to voice my opinion and hope that will be useful to you . If it is not then thats too bad !
Raja
————————————
Thank you Raja, Happy New Year to you and your family.
I appreciate your opinion and of course you are free to voice it as I am free to voice mine. I am not heartless to what is happening in Gaza, but I have the guts to say my opinion and what I believe is best for my country. I am not an arab nationalist as you can see plus:
- Egypt is not the only country with borders with Israel: Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are also neighbors; why don’t they start war with Israel to get them busy elsewhere…..
- The Rafah crossing point is controlled by Israel on the Palestinian side and we have a peace agreement with Israel since 1978 that we respect; we have been trying to get humanitarian aid since day one and could not get through;
- Hamas defended their Haj from crossing the border to go to Haj even though it was open, I wonder why??
- I love my country and am concerned about its safety exactly like you are about Lebanon;
- My blog is very clear about the lost respect for Hassan Nasrallah, and I continue to say I don’t care about him that much when it comes to my country safety;
- Don’t believe everything you see on Jezeerah and Arabia since I live in Cairo and actually work downtown close to all those hot places with expected demonstrations and there haven’t been millions as they say and I have been going to work everyday without a problem
- Egypt and since 1948 has been in wars for the Palestinians, what have they done for themselves:
- They refuse to unit and even more now Hamas and Fatteh;
- They refused Sadaat’s offer to go to the negotiation table in 1978 otherwise the situation would have been different today
- They have been causing this havoc since the fights between Hamas and Fatteh started
- They forced entry to Egypt few months ago (300,000 to be exact) with fake dollars and Egyptian money and flooded the market with fake money
- I write my blog to express my anger, happiness, sadness and my beliefs which I am honest about;
Raja, I respect all comments and publish them on my blog freely and I don’t edit if you wish to add your comments on my site. So if you don’t mind, I will publish it on my blog as well as my answer.
However, when it comes to Egypt, I am biased and can not help it.
All the best
Noha Fawzy

Dear Noha
I read your answer on yr blog , and I don t mind you publishing that on yr blog .
I did not see in yr response an answer about using foul language against a popular leader like
Nasralla. Also I don t see where is he attacking Egypt .
You are voising the same response that Yr officials are singing on their media !!
It is so pathetic ?because no one is asking Egypt to go to war for PALESTINE !
No one is talking either about Sadat s peace accord with Isreal back in 1977 , I was one
who was touched by the event , and even more so that US and Israel had succeeded in
isolating Egypt from its environment , the Arab world . Egypt speaks Arabic, even if you
didn t like the idea . On top of taht Egypt is the leader of Sunni Islam, represented by Al Azhar .
Palestinians have been divided , because Arabs are between two distinct camps. You should know that
if you followed the news . The divide and rule policies of Colonialst powers still prevail , and I strongly believe
being a History major, that Colonialism still exists , in different forms . That you can argue and I am prepared to give my opinion , but I stronlgy recommend you read what Western intellectuals say about it , for
instance read John Perkins 5 Economic Hit Men ) a NYT best Seller and read SIBEL EDMUNDS , and ex FBI employee who speaks about 9/111 and many other hidden facts from Public..
ALso I hope you really understand that Israel is not a democracy , and that Palestinians have rights in their home land which Great Britain gave Israel their land , something that Sultan Abdel Hamid refused to do becasue he told the Jewish agency it wasn t his !!
To go back to Rafah, Egypt was not part of the accord made between the PA, Isreal and the european Union .. Egypt is not in danger if it opened the frontier,at least its part which is Egyptian, but the real issue is not at all LEGAL ; It is political , and Egypt is not in danger of loosing anythng … But anyway I respect Egyptian position , although I think it is sad … What happened to Egyptian sovereignty and pride ?
By the way Arabia is pro western ? it is al Manar who is pro HIzballa and they and Jazeerah give you photos and videos to support their coverage , during times like this ? ARABIA tries hard to be objective , but they
have owners who are under strict rules they have to abide by !!
Best sources are interent sites like www.whatreallyhappened.com that is a US site that covers worldwide events objectively .
Isreal is against peace , that is know , and tryiong to convince us in Lebanon or anywhere else in the region is denied by 60 years of agression and apartheid policies, you can ask Presiodent Carter about it and read his book to be convinced !!
EGypt cannot live with the Arab world , it is an integral part of it . Yet the Arab world itself is divided !!
Lovng your country is not at all at stake , we all do , but most important is to determine who is Egypt s best friend and who is its ennemy ?
Cheers
Raja

Mr. Raja,
1-Kindly draw our attention to the the poll which supports your claim that this nassrallah thing is the most popular in Egypt, otherwise, your statement is emotional and not worth refuting.
2- In as much as Egypt has borders with Gaza, Egypt is bound by international agreement which governs the nature of the crossing point with Rafah. Egypt, in case your are not aware of, respects its signature to international accords in the same manner like hizballah and Syria.
3- At any rate, as far as I understand, Syria and Lebanon share common borders with Israel, regulated by various agreements, why do you want Egypt to breach its legal obligations while Syria and Lebanon adhere to them?
4- Kindly push for your arguments through Lebanon or your beloved Syria, before turning the heat on Egypt, it is of little relevance, for us Egyptians, opinions coming from non-entities
Dear Mr. Raja,
This is turning into an emotional marathon…to be honest, it is not even worth the effort to counter argue your “emotional” meaningless narrative….
