Where will Bush rank in history???
By admin • Jan 22nd, 2009 • Category: History, economy, obama, peace, politicsWatching the inauguration of the 44th President Barack Obama, in addition to reading a variety of literature written about George W. Bush, an example of which is Newsweek’s piece http://www.newsweek.com/id/178858?GT1=43002 , I must say I felt pity for the latter leaving on such a bad note; leaving behind a legacy of misery, economic recession, skyrocketing unemployment, two open wars in Iraq and Afghanistan…etc.
In his final speech, George Bush mentioned the great achievements, from his point of view printed in 40 pages that you can search and read on the internet. I must say also that I feel that he has a sense of relieve as if this responsibility has taken its toll and that he could not take it anymore. This can also be a reason for the smooth transition that we felt in the transfer of power between the outgoing and the incoming administration; as if they wanted out.
But where will George Bush rank in history on a scale of 10 (1 excellent - 10 lousy), he will definitely rank at 9.8 for the damage he had done for the USA is unprecedented. The image of the USA has never been worse and most of developing countries have been viewing the USA as an enemy. My final conclusion is that George Bush was not strong enough to govern the USA and the free market world. Hope that he spends the rest of his life in peace and at peace with himself.
Congratulations Obama, I think you are the man for the job who will bring peace and understanding to the world, good luck on a tough job that I am sure you will tackle successfully.
