Gaza under fire…and So is Egypt

If I sound heartless and non sympathetic with the Palestinian people, it is not meant to be.  If I sound biased and worried about Egypt safety, that is exactly what I’m aiming at.  My heart goes to the Palestinian women, men and children of the Gaza Strip, the attacks on the civilians are un- acceptable .

Out of our tax money the Egyptian government is sending medicine, food and basic needs to help as much as we can; bearing in mind we are not a rich country, we have 52% of our population living under poverty line.  Therefore, this is a selfless act on our behalf.

Egyptians are known to be emotional and they would give what they have to help others, but we have a saying that goes “اللي يعوزه البيت يحرم علي الجامع ” translated   “What is needed at home, is forbidden on the mosque”.

I, for one, am fed up with the Palestinian saga, they don’t want peace or they would have joined peace talks in 1978.  Their leaders definitely do  profit from the status-quo; only their people are suffering.  They go to meetings abroad, they are not stuck in Gaza and West Bank day and night without electricity, water and basic needs, while their people cant get a visa. Hamas Leader Khaled Mashaal is in Syria meeting with Syrian, and Iranian parties instead of being with his people in their fight against Israel.

I am being accused of being biased to my country, but I find it is only normal to defend Egypt when being under attack.  I Love Egypt and Egypt Prevails.
